National Science Foundation Award for RDM

• Jen is the PI for the NSF Grant to host year and half project: two workshops on RDM support and suggestions for the CSUs in light of the Nelson Memo https://guides.lib.udel.edu/openaccess/nelsonmemo

• Recruitment Flyer: Very grateful if you pass along to other CSU colleagues that may be interested.

• Experimental grant. Learning about the platform that is being used in Japan. National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan. Their data repository integrates with IR.

• Commitment of about 1.5 years, writing up results/doing presentations/writing papers together.

• Learning together!

• MPPs cannot receive extra funding, faculty are eligible.

Request came from CSU Research Officers. Initial scoping would limit access to the CSU community.

• Should we put research grant proposal in Scholarworks (viewable only by CSU community)?

• Research offices suggest that having this collection would be a valuable resource.

• Questions:

  • what are the costs ? should they be

  • will they be open eventually?

  • isn't this covered by the public access policy?

  • capacity charges (development and support)

  • Suggest we need a MOU and discussion of capacity

  • Take some work - metadata - one campus upload - dedicated person to do this
