Alma December 2017 highlight: 651 Authority record linking: For bibliographic records containing the 651 field with a second indicator of 0, the system now checks LCNAMES in addition to LCSH.
The Norm Rules Joint Task force requested clarification on the 76X-78X display/linking norm rules request. The table below shows how these fields currently display in Primo and which are hyperlinked. The Group discussed benefits of displaying and hyperlinking additional linking entry fields and decided to leave the table below as is for now. If necessary, this will be reconsidered in the future.
Marcive Documents without Shelves
Discussion (scope; central management; record loads procedures; division of labor; impact on discovery).
Scope: For 2018, Documents without Shelves will be provided for all CSU campuses as part of the subscription. For 2019 and beyond, all campuses will have the option to continue access and be charged based on campus usage.
Management of records: Centrally by whom? How often (updates/deletes)?
"How to create a base collection to share using all of the unique records from the campuses with existing Marcive subscriptions as DWS is not retrospective. At that point, I think we’d want to get rid of these portfolios in our IZ as they would be duplicates and would not be kept up to date."
Loading of records to NZ: Process can be automated. But for the management, solutions to the issues raised will be dealt after the initial record load. Sarina suggested we follow up with Wisconsin.
