• Items out of COLIN meeting on Monday 11/18:

  • Accessibility:  In April 2024, the DOJ announced their new rule regarding accessibility of online content (https://www.ada.gov/resources/2024-03-08-web-rule/). Content will be required to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA with a compliance deadline of 2026. The general provisions attached to all CSU negotiated contracts require that vendors meet relevant accessibility law already.

  • Communicating license terms: We discussed opportunities for ensuring that relevant librarians and staff are aware of license provisions and their importance, particularly when it comes to resource sharing, course reserves, and course packs. While SDLC has already spoken at I-SPIE, we'd like to liaise with the ULMS Acquisitions group and others to share how licenses might inform their work and also bring back comments/concerns to consortial groups that deal with licensing or license term sharing.
