Brandon shared the news with the CSU community and will begin conversations with Ex Libris to initiate the go live process. This should take about 2 weeks to finish the work. Redirects will need to be setup and schools can switch after that.
Brandon wants to know from EXL if permalink redirects will affect schools that have not yet gone live with VE? According to EXL: “A DNS switch will be implemented, redirecting traffic from your Classic Primo front-ends to your Primo VE views. From this point on, deeplinks, permalinks, and short permalinks will be transformed into Primo VE compatible URLs. This action is seamless and doesn’t involve any downtime.” Brandon would like to double check and get full clarity on the cut over process.
We will continue to have support on Basecamp until we cut over to support, and Brandon is requesting that access to Primo be maintained through the calendar year.
Brandon thinks that the Primo sandboxes will go away since they are tied to Primo and not VE. We are supposed to have access to Primo VE sandboxes.
Christine Holmes (Unlicensed) provide a spreadsheet of go live tasks that campuses can you to verify they are ready. She will share with the group one it is finalized.
Disseminate documentation via agreed upon channel (see action item below)
Search Profiles that include DN will include Esploro, Collections, and Electronic Resources. David recommended that the default DN not be used. The recommendation is to create a local search scope that filters our the DN records. DFC will communicate the recommendations for configuring the DN and the CO will help setup.
Norm rules task force will be impacted by this change. David recommends keeping open communication lines with this group so they can provide a central point for developing drool changes.
Brandon indicated that the PBO norm rules are represented in VE, but there may be additional rules that need be made.
The norm rule/drool request process will remain in place.
