Managing the Primo VE Customization Package on Mac OS
The built-in file compression process on Mac OS systems adds additional hidden files (such as .DS_Store) to the .zip archive. Alma/Primo VE can not process a .zip that contains the additional hidden files. To remove them, use the built-in zip function via a Terminal window to compress you files without adding the hidden files. Run the following commands from a Terminal window.
CD into the directory where the customization folder exists. For example: cd Desktop/PrimoVE-Customizations/
Run the command: zip -r 01CALS_USL-01CALS_USL.zip 01CALS_USL-01CALS_USL -x "/."
Note:
The -r option initiates recursion in all subdirectories.
01CALS_USL-01CALS_USL.zip is the output file name. Change this to match your institution’s view id.
01CALS_USL-01CALS_USL represents the local folder where your customized files exist.
-x "/." excludes all hidden files.
